| The IP-based Video Visitation Unit
This unit is revolutionary! For most people, Video Visitation involves a complicated bank of matrix switchers or an expensive set of PBX equipment, but not so with MTI's video visitation system. The MTI system is IP-based, which means that a video visitation system can be implemented using standard networking equipment such as Ethernet switches and routers. Cabling is also a breeze. The video visitation unit encodes video and audio into compressed digital packets that are sent peer-to-peer to other video visitation units on the network. Because the units work on a peer-to-peer network, there is no need for a complicated data center where all of the data is collected and redistributed. It also means that the networking is transparent to the units themselves. Your network might involve a Wireless component, Metro-E, Microwave, or fiber optics, but the implementation and application still works the same way.

| The NVR |
|
| The Network Video Recorder (NVR)
MTI provides HP ProLiant Servers with MTI NetMediaDVR software to perform the task of recording visitation sessions. Each NVR is configured with enough storage to record 8 simultaneous sessions (16 individual streams) at 30 frames-per-second for 8 hours a day for 30 days. The NVRs are configured to automatically remove recordings that are older than 30 days. The software provides for viewing of archived sessions. A CD-RW drive is provided for archiving of individual sessions, and the system is capable of utilizing an external storage device such as a tape drive or large external hard drive.

| The Kiosk Server |
|
| The Kiosk Server
The Kiosk Server is an optional addition to the MTI video visitation system that provides an interface for inmate input. The video visitation units can be modified to provide a track-ball input, and the units, when not in session, will access the Kiosk server to input such things as commissary requests, general inmate requests, and grievance filings. The Kiosk Server utilizes Microsoftİ Sharepoint Server with a packaged set of Web Applications. In addition to requests, the inmate can view a calendar of events and even a visitation schedule. Other documents, such as an inmate manual, can be posted to the server for inmate viewing. The visitation staff can also use the server to schedule visitations and administrate the above mentioned requests and documents. Because the system is built using Sharepoint Server, most I.T. professionals are qualified to support and even customize the application without any involvement from MTI.

| The Monitoring Application |
|
| The User Interface
MTI provides a management interface to the video visitation system through our ProVision software package. This graphical touchscreen package allows the user to establish visitation sessions between any inmate and visitor. The operator can specify the time for the visit and choose whether to start the visit time when the units connect or when the users pick up their handsets. The software also allows the operator to select a "Record on Start" option, which automatically begins recording sessions when they start.
Other Software Features
--Live Monitoring - The software allows the operator to monitor individual visits. There is also the option of automatically scrolling the monitoring through all active sessions.
--Live Break-in - The software allows the operator to break into an active session for the purpose of special announcement or disciplinary warning.
--Document Scrolling - The visitation units can be configured to display documents on-screen. Documents such as visitation schedules, inmate handbooks, announcements, etc. can be displayed for viewing.
--Visitation Scheduling - An optional scheduling module allows operators to schedule visits by time slot and unit number. The scheduling module interfaces with the Document Scrolling feature, allowing operators to post their visitation schedule directly to the units.
